A friend for Molly Doll

While I was home with sick girls last week, I finished sewing a friend for Molly Doll (and Charlotte). Charlotte named her Lilac.

Lilac was supposed to have long braids; but I didn't make her hair quite long enough; so she ended up with ponytails.

They also got a pair of new pajamas this week (the girls each picked their own fabric). They turned out so cute. Charlotte and Olivia have been having fun getting them ready for bed each night.

Olivia loves her doll. She sleeps with Molly each night and takes her to school almost everyday for her "napping buddy".

Charlotte has been more excited than I thought about her doll; since she is more of a dinosaur gal. Char and Liv have been playing  all sort s of cute imaginary games with them; like pet shop or tea party. Now I need a new sewing project!

Halloween

My little mermaid and zebra. I wish I had a shot of Charlotte's cute zebra tail.

Olivia was wearing sparkly makeup all over-she felt so special.

Charlotte's face paint looks more like ceremonial aboriginal make-up than a zebra; but that is the best I could do with the 2 minutes I had to get them ready between work and go time!

They both got enough candy to last a while.

I can't figure out why this is sideways, sorry. Several of us dressed as pirates at work-it was a fun and sugary day.

Grandpa's Pumpkin Patch

We visited Grandpa's Pumpkin Patch this weekend.

Each of the girls found a nice pumpkin

Thanks Grandpa!

You will also find strange and unusual things growing in Grandpa's garden-like this gourd.

Here's a sneak peak at the family photos we had taken this weekend. The girls had a blast in the leaves.

Charlotte got a little crazy!

We lucked out with gorgeous fall weather for pictures. More to come!

First Day of School

What happened to the summer? School started on Sept. 3rd. Charlotte was very excited!

All ready to go with her dinosaur back pack and alligator-airplane lunch box.

How did she get so big?

Charlotte is going to a new school this year; Periwinkle Elementary. It is a nice school with a great gym, cafeteria and super nice playground.

Sissy wanted to stay.

Here she is with Mrs. Johnson. Mrs. Johnson is young, pretty, energetic and so sweet. I think it is going to be a great year.

Olivia stared pre-school today. She was really excited even though she really has no idea what to expect.

She could fit inside her backpack; literally!

When I dropped her off she looked quite nervous. There were lots of kids making lots of noise. But, she quickly found a friend and some toys. I hope she will like it!

Colorful morning

We went to the Albany Air and Art Festival this weekend. Which meant waking up really early to see the hot air balloon lift off.

It was worth the early start. The girls were sooooooo excited to watch the balloons fill with air and then lift off the ground.

The scenes were so colorful; I couldn't stop taking pictures.

The Panda was definitely their favorite.

Olivia was also pretty impressed with the triangle balloon.

There were more than 20 balloons; they looked so cool filling up the sky. Charlotte came right home and started drawing colorful balloons with dinosaurs in their baskets.

Have a colorful day!
